Council action and project status. June 18, 2026: The city announced the new access and sidewalks. Funding included $90,000 from John Hobbs III’s District 1 improvement allocation and about $20,000 in federal ARPA funding.

Rezoning rejected · July 2025
The Rocky Ridge mining dispute raised questions about industrial land use near homes, including dust, truck traffic and environmental concerns reported by residents. The zoning decision concerned whether the proposed industrial use would be allowed.
Council action and project status. July 15, 2025: Council rejected the rezoning proposals. The official O-223-25 record marks the 4004 Angola Road change failed; WTVG reported the city planned a stop-work order. That dated action does not establish the site’s present operating status.
